Do you really need those receipts for all the breakfast tacos you bought in 1974?
NBU customers are invited to Community Shred Day where NBU will shred two copier paper boxes of stuff for FREE! Up to two more are just $5 each and the money goes to the NBU Utility Bill Assistance Program.
The next Community Shred Day will be held:
Saturday, April 21, 2018
9 a.m. to 12 p.m
NBU hosts Community Shred Day to provide NBU customers with an opportunity to not only dispose of their confidential information in a secure manner, but also to do so in an environmentally friendly way! Shred-It takes the material to a recycling facility so it can be utilized in paper products. Since 2009, nearly 15 tons of material have been shredded and recycled!
Protect yourself, your family and your company’s confidential information by disposing of it safely! Bring your sensitive documents to the NBU Community Shred Day for FREE and safe disposal! Our employee volunteers will be at the NBU Service Center at 355 FM 306, ready to help unload your items, provide you with information about identity theft prevention, and register you for a chance to win one of three personal shredders!
Shred-It, Inc. will have mobile shredding units on site to provide free shredding of documents and materials (limited to the equivalent of two (2) copy-paper-sized boxes).
Get up to two (2) additional boxes of documents shredded for a $5 donation each to the NBU Utility Bill Assistance Program.
Items for disposal may include:
- White or Colored Paper
- File Folders
- Window Envelopes
- Plastic Cards
(Staples and paper clips are okay…but no hanging files or other metal objects.)

There’s a 1-in-33 chance you’ll have your identity stolen in the next year, according to the Federal Trade commission! Reduce that risk by shredding documents with personal information on them that you no longer need.
